Yes — and more often than not, it's a previous grooming experience that made them anxious, not grooming itself. We work slowly, use positive reinforcement throughout, and never rush or force the process. Let us know about any specific triggers at intake and we'll plan the appointment around them. In some cases, we recommend a short familiarization visit before the first full groom.

We'll assess the matting at intake. Minor matting can usually be worked through. Severe matting — where de-matting would cause discomfort — will require a shave-down, and we'll discuss that option with you before proceeding. We never de-mat a dog in a way that causes pain. The dog's welfare comes first, even if that means a shorter coat than expected.

Absolutely — and it's one of the most popular combinations. Add a grooming service when you book your stay and we'll schedule it during their visit. Your dog goes home from their trip clean, freshly groomed, and smelling like a brand new dog. You can also request it at drop-off depending on availability.

Not for most appointments — we provide all shampoos, conditioners, and equipment. If your dog has a specific shampoo prescribed by a vet (for skin conditions, allergies, etc.), bring it and we'll use it.

We use professional-grade, pet-safe shampoos and conditioners selected by coat and skin type. All products are free from harsh sulphates, and we'll always ask at intake about known sensitivities — if your dog has had reactions before, tell us and we'll select accordingly.

It depends on the breed and coat type. Short-coated dogs can usually go 8–12 weeks between full grooms. Long-coated and curly-coated breeds typically need grooming every 6–8 weeks to prevent matting. We'll give you a personalized recommendation after your dog's first appointment — and we're always happy to advise over the phone if you're unsure.
